Animal birth control campaigns

Because prevention is better than the cure!

Our project

sto do august 2011 218-47.JPG

Support ABC (Animal-Birth-Control) programs to reduce the number of street animals and prevent useless suffering due to diseases and hunger.

The practice is done by local vets that are very well trained mainly on the north coast of the Dominican Republic.

Our main work with street animals consists of spaying and neutering to prevent unwanted puppies and kittens being born into short lives of suffering.

Along with the rescue, vaccination, medical treatment, sheltering and adoption of those that cannot be returned to their territory.

We support street dogs and cats all over the world where help is needed most, but mainly in the DR.

We clearly don’t want to imprison, put animals into cages or create shelter ghettos for that. All our rescues are accommodated in loving foster families until they are ready for adoption.

Our main focuses

-intensive ABC (birth control) programs by highly trained local veterinarians or by colleagues from Europe to help reduce the number of stray animals and the suffering from diseases and hunger.

- Assistance to street dogs and cats around the world where help is needed, but mostly in the Dominican Republic.

We don't want to lock up animals and / or build an animal shelter with cages.

Our current projects

IMG_15E7081B5271-1.jpeg

-create a better rescue station for Angelo, my main assistant who is living in the poor area of Cienaga and our little animal shelter in need where all the animals (birds, rabbits, cats and dogs) are integrated in the family life.

-building up more possibilities of fostering dogs and cats in severe need and giving them medical care and love in private homes until they are capable of being adopted.

- growing network of foster families and potential adopters (in the DR and abroad)

-Help and support disadvantage local Dominican people to feed and treat their pets (castration / vaccination / anti parasite treatments)

-Educate local Dominicans via community work on how to treat animals and generate positive awareness & care for animals.

-Training & funding of local vets and vet technicians to support our work and vision

-Cooperate with rescue organizations in Canada and USA for exchange (Vet-Training-Programs /adopting processes / finding flight companions)

-Cooperation with hotels & local restaurants (we offer to spay and neuter, to tattoo and vaccinate stray animals in the hotel area free of charge if they are fed in return at feeding stations, hotels in return can advertise with this engagement in animal welfare)

-Build a 24 hours rescue service for animals in need of shelter
